Lindsay Strathdee – Director
Lindsay is an independent CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER CM specialising in the rural sector. He has been director of Premier Financial Group since it was founded in 1999. After establishing a widespread Canterbury and West Coast client base he recognised the unique financial needs of the rural community, which led to the establishment of Premier Rural Ltd in 2014.
Lindsay has many years of experience. He attended Lincoln College and completed a Diploma in Agriculture and Field Technology in 1978 and spent some of his earlier years working in the rural sector, where he gained a solid understanding of many aspects of rural life and learnt many life lessons regarding the need to diversify investments, through to investment cycles.
Lindsay joined NZI Life as an agent in 1987 and has been in the insurance and investment industry ever since. His achievements include a Diploma of Life Insurance in 1991, Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) status in 1998 and Associate Financial Planner (AFP) in 2004. He completed a Diploma in Business Studies (Personal Financial Planning) through Massey University in 2011.
In 2013 Lindsay gained CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER CM (CFPCM) certification from the Institute of Financial Advisers. This is a prestigious world standard for financial planning professionals. Currently there are approximately 350 CFPCM members in New Zealand and only approximately 50 with both CFPCM and CLU certifications.
In April 2016 Lindsay and his wife purchased a small dairy farm near Motueka. They are in the process of converting it to intensive beef where they are both looking forward to putting their enthusiasm for Fodder beet into practice.
